What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections and How Do They Work?
Anti-wrinkle injections, also known as Botox injections or anti-ageing injections use a purified protein produced by Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by temporarily reducing the muscle activity that causes persistent lines and wrinkles to form. By reducing muscle activity the lines are less evident and are slightly plumped, giving a smoother more youthful look and tone. This simple but effective procedure takes only a few minutes and can produce noticeable results within days. As the procedure itself is virtually painless with minimal side effects, most patients find that they can get on with their day immediately after treatment.
Deep lines and fine wrinkles are inevitable signs of ageing and for many years we have all been trying to find ways to combat them. The wrinkling and drooping skin is a result of many changes going on beneath the surface of the skin such as collagen depletion, hormones and damage caused by free radicals. Sun exposure is one of the biggest culprits in causing premature ageing but our love for tanning often over-rides the concerns for the long term effects on our skin. Where the lines occur is mainly due to many years of muscle or surface skin contraction such as frowning, squinting or laughing. If the lines or wrinkles are apparent while the face muscles are resting it means they are there for good, and unfortunately will only get worse.
However, Botox can be a lasting solution that has been used for anti-wrinkle treatments for many years now and the medical profession is seeing more advantages and applications as time goes on. It is the preferred cosmetic anti-wrinkle treatment of aesthetics professionals. The long term success of BOTOX® is showing in the increase in the variety of areas to treat – even migraine headaches can be helped due to its relaxant properties.
Treatment at Q Aesthetic clinic can lead to a swift and noticeable improvement in the appearance of persistent frown lines and wrinkles, helping women and men to achieve a healthier, more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.
One of our key aims when injecting Botox is to ensure that facial expressions are minimally affected, for an entirely natural result; so you look well-rested and calm rather than like you have had a procedure.
We offer a variety of different Botox treatments to patients throughout Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and the South East. If you are interested in any of these treatments, please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
Reduce the Signs of Ageing
Rejuvenation injections can reduce the signs of ageing by targeting specific muscle groups to temporarily stop them from contracting and forming associated lines and wrinkles. Botulinum toxin type A is available by prescription only and treatments should therefore only be performed by a qualified medical professional. At Q Aesthetics we are here to help, so if you would like to talk to a qualified medical consultant about temporarily smoothing away wrinkles simply book a free consultation and our aesthetic nurse practitioner will answer any questions you may have.
Botox for men
There has been a significant increase in the number of men receiving Botox injections, to the extent it has now been dubbed “Brotox” and has its own hashtag! Men are now generally much more proactive about addressing their appearance and are more open to tackling age-related concerns via safe, non-surgical treatment options. Whatever the motivation for treatment, it is important that male patients choose a practitioner who is experienced at treating men as they tend to have different muscle mass and stronger muscle groups and will therefore require different Botox doses than their female counterparts. Because of this, many clinics charge an additional supplement for male Botox treatments but at Q Aesthetics, where we remain focused on patient outcomes, there is no surcharge for our male patients.
